| Gastric Band Surgery Is Risky, Says Study A new research has found that gastric band surgery is risky as it has several unforeseen medical consequences, including additional surgeries. Researchers at the European School of Laparoscopic Surgery in Brussels, Belgium studied 82 patients who had undergone the procedure and found that nearly 40 percent reported major complications. The researchers also found that about half had to have the bands removed and around 60 percent needed more surgery. |
