On Saturday, the family members gathered at the scene of the disastrous bus crash that took the lives of 15 people who were on their way back to Manhattan from a Connecticut casino, a week ago.

Most of the relatives of the victims were in tears at the solemn Buddhist remembrance ceremony, with monks leading the prayers. Incense was being burnt by the mourning relatives, at the spot where the bus overturned and was split into half by a pole. State and federal regulators have cracked down on these types of tour buses, in the week following the bus-crash, conducting surprise inspections.

Ophadell Williams, the driver of the bus has been questioned by investigators. NBC New York reported that Williams had his driving privileges suspended years back, when he was driving under a different name. He was questioned by state police and federal investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board this week at the Brooklyn office of the bus company, World Wide Tours.

Investigators have been told by passengers that the driver may have been dozing off in the moments before the crash happened. Several people are still hospitalized, while many of them are on life support.

Williams has not been charged with any crime linked to the crash, as officials stress that the investigation is still in its early stages.
