Here is latest Tiger Woods update. In yet another case of major companies like AT$T and Accenture leaving Tiger Woods, Gatorade drinks company has also canceled their sponsorship for the disgraced golfer after his confession of cheating on his wife Elin with many mistresses. Clearly the company is not impressed with Tiger's public apology few days ago. So the Tiger Woods Gatorade connection is over thanks to the whole very public Tiger Woods affair.
Pepsico owned, Gatorade had previously discontinued 'Tiger Focus' a Woods themed drink . Gatorade announced however that it will still continue its association with charitable Tiger Woods Foundation.
A company spokesman said, ""We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship... We wish him all the best."
So Gatorade becomes the third in line of big companies who have ditched the golf star. Other two are communications company AT&T and corporate services business Accenture.
There are others like Gillette and luxury watch maker Tag Heuer who have also cut their sponsorship deals. Car maker General Motors recently announced that their arrangement with Tiger Woods that allowed him free access to its vehicles was over.
Before all the sponsorship deals being canceled Tiger Woods was the richest athlete thanks to big bucks these deals brought him.
The only support for Woods came from sports equipment giant Nike, which pays Woods $40m a year reportedly and which stood by him.
There is also news that video game maker Electronic Arts is planning to launch an online game featuring the golf star. We will be back with more Tiger Woods latest.
